Quebec Inshore Rescue Boat Service

In the Quebec region, the SAR Service has been offering a student marine rescue program since the 1970s. Designed primarily to assist in SAR activities, the objective of this program is to provide direct help in saving lives in our waters and promoting boating safety. To fully carry out its mission, every summer the Inshore Rescue Boat Service uses six fast rescue craft manned by some 36 students in six rescue stations in Trois-Rivières, Sorel, Longueuil, Beaconsfield, Pointe-aux-Anglais and Bainsville (Ontario).
